Dr. Sathyanarayana Srikantha is the Director of SAMATVAM, an Endocrinology Diabetes Research Center in Bangalore. He had a distinguished academic record of accomplishments for over twenty five years in the field of clinical endocrinology. After completing MBBS from the Government Bangalore Medical College, he obtained an MD degree in general medicine from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi in 1981.
Later, he was a Research Fellow and Faculty Investigator in the area of endocrinology at Duke University Medical School, and was a staff scientist at the Joslin Diabetes Center of the Harvard University. On return to India in 1987, he served as a Scientific Officer and Assistant Director of Endocrinology at AIIMS, Professor and Head of the Department of Endocrinology and Chief of Center of Endocrine Sciences, Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow. He worked as a Visiting Professor with the Pancreas and Islet Transplantation Program at the University of Minnesota, and a visiting clinician to the Mayo Clinic. At present he is an honorary consultant to the National Institute of Mental health and Neurological Sciences (NIMHANS), Sagar Apollo Hospital, Wockhardt Hospital, Mahaveer Jain Hospital, all at Bangalore. Dr. Srikanta is a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (FACE).
