 Dr. Kavita Rattan, has a Masters in Environmental Sciences from Institute of Science, Nagpur and a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. She has rich research, teaching and consulting experience in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Environmental Sciences. She is currently at the Department of Biotechnology, Dr. Ambedkar College, Nagpur, where she is teaching courses in Molecular Biology and Pharmacogenomics.
She has a major research project funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and her research interests are in analyzing microbial diversity in pristine and contaminated niches using molecular tools; bioremediation of persistent pollutants; evaluation of long term impact of partially treated wastewaters on soils and surface and groundwater; and natural resource management. She is guiding research dissertations of a number of postgraduate students taking courses in Biotechnology and Environmental Sciences. |
